Boy Meets Boy, Shelter, and Shank...

Boy Meets Boy.

"Boy Meets Boy" by David Levithan is a beautiful novel about a gay boy named Paul, who meets the boy of his dreams, Noah. In this simple, but lovable book, Levithan shows their growing relationship, without giving too much away too soon, leaving the reader literally shouting at the characters to get together. Other characters throughout the book include 'Infinite Darlene,' the homecoming queen AND star quarterback, 'Joni,' Paul's best friend, who seems to be drifting away, and 'Kyle,' Paul's ex.
Now, I'm only on page 93 out of 223 (chapter 11 of... quite a few, it doesn't say how many there are, and I don't want to count them), but already I feel connected to the characters, and fell in love with the novel from the moment I picked it up. Even the front cover is cute and gentle, with a baby blue background, the author's name written in lower case letters, and three candy love hearts with the words "Boy," "Meets," and "Boy," in the center.
My advice, buy the book, read the book, fall in love with the book. David Levithan is a talented writer, who keeps the reader on their toes, with lots of wit and humour, the greatest concoction (excuse the former slight pun) for any book.

Shelter

"Shelter" is a film which follows just-out-of-high-school Zach, who lives with his father, older sister, and young nephew, and Shaun, Zach's best friend's older brother, who is crashing at his brother's house while he gets over a difficult breakup, as they fall for each other. I don't want to give too much away, but I feel it is my duty to mention that the film has lots of surfing in it, and how hot are surfers? Especially when they are getting it on! "Shelter" is a must-have in your DVD collection, I've had it for about a month now, and I must have watched it beyond 15 times. Which either makes me sad, or normal. Personally, I kind of fell in love with Zach's best friend, Gabe, but unfortunately, in the film he is straight. Anyhoosers, what I'm getting at is... buy the film. You'll love it :)

Shank

I haven't watched "Shank" yet, but I have ordered it from HMV.com, so hopefully it will be here by the weekend. I saw the DVD advertised in both GT Magazine, and Attitude, and from first sight I thought it looked hot! So as soon as I got home (Okay, I'm lying... a couple of days later) I logged into HMV and ordered the DVD, and I can't wait to watch it. In a nutshell, (excuse the bad pun, again... which probably wouldn't have been noticed unless pointed out, and may not even be noticed now) the movie is about a gang who prey on innocent people, mostly homosexuals, (which is not unlike real life, just the other day a group of young chavs on bikes were throwing stones at me for being gay, I wished death upon them) and eventually pick on a French exchange student, only for Cal (a member of the group, who is a closet case) to rescue him, and begins to fall in love with him. Hot much? I think so.
